ITINERARY IN BRIEF

Day 1: Departure to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Day 2: Arrive in Elzovo airport and relax in your hotel.

Day 3: Take a 4x4 to Esso stopping off at Milkovo along the way.

Day 4: Take a helicopter to the Evenks raindeer herd. This will take around 30-40 minutes and will see you landing in the mountains near a raindeer breeders' settlement and herd pasture. Back in Esso, visit the museum to learn about Kachatka's indigenous people and shamans. (Please note that this excursion will cost an additional £100 per person)

Day 5: Move to the base of Tolbachik Volcano and visit the first testing ground of the Lunakhod spaceship. Spend the night in your camp.

Day 6: Hike to the summit of Tolbachik Volcano and enjoy another night of camp life!

Day 7: Experience the Dead Forest where a volcanic eruption in 1975 has made the forest a 'dead zone'. Burned tree trunks poke out of the ash - an eerie sight.

Day 8: Dismantle your camp and depart for Paratunka.

Day 9:Have a rest day or take a helicopter bound for the Valley of the Geysers, then explore by foot! (Please note however that this excursion, including helicopter, will cost an additional £750)

Day 10: Head to the sea and cruise Avachinskaya Bay towards Starchikov Island - a wildlife preserve. Try your hand at fishing and taste the traditional 'ukha' a thick fish soup.

Day 11: Head for home on your return flight.

Whilst on this increadible adventure you will be transported in 4x4s, helicopters and on your own two legs!

EATING AND SLEEPING

All food and meals will be taken care of both when in towns and in camp. You will be staying in a combination of hotels and exciting camps - most likely sleeping in yurts or tents.
