GEOGRAPHY

Southern Sinai is dominated by its Granite peaks with alluvial fans on the coast. Further North there are the sandstone and limestone deserts followed by the gravel plains that reach out to the Mediterranean.

The Bedu of the Sinai are split into 12 different tribes with distinct boundaries. The main languages are Bedu Arabic, English and Hebrew.

ENVIRONMENT & WILDLIFE

The Sinai is a true desert with rainfall less than 100mm a year. However snow sometimes falls on the high mountains in winter, where Ibex and falcons still roam free.
