Follow in Bruce Parry’s footsteps by embarking on a unique trek in the heart of Borneo with one of the last remaining, and most remote nomadic tribes of Borneo - the Penan.

ITINERARY IN BRIEF

Day 1: Arrive in Miri, sample freshly caught seafood, and stay either in the town or on the beach.

Day 2: Take a Twin Otter, then off-road in a 4x4 followed by exploring up-river in dugout canoes to spend a night in a traditional Longhouse.

Day 3: Continue on in dugout canoes to a tradition Penan settlement and learn how to live in the jungle environment.

Day 4: Begin trekking with Penan guides. Practise using blowpipes along the way and enjoy swimming at waterfalls.

Day 5: Continue your trekking adventure via more stunning waterfalls and visit remote bat caves deep in the jungle.

Day 6: Trek back towards Long Lellang whilst spotting wildlife along the way.

Day 7: Trek over a ridgeline and down into Long Lellang. Stay in a Kenyah village for the night.

Day 8: Catch an early morning jungle flight back to Miri and return to a well-earned rest in the hotel - traditional restaurants and souvenir shopping also await!

Day 9: Return flight home, or rest day in Miri.

Note: Blowpipes and Parangs can be made by the Penan and purchased to order at the end of your adventure!

Explore the heart of Borneo using a combination of light aircraft, 4x4s, on foot and via dugout canoe.

EATING AND SLEEPING

Stay in hotels in Miri, and local villages at the begining and end of your trek. Whilst on trek, get back to nature sleeping in hammocks and mosquito nets. You will be sampling the best traditional food Borneo has to offer, cooked on open fires during your trek.
