Catlin Artic Survey
How long will the Arctic Ocean's Sea Ice cover remain a permanent feature of our Planet? The Catlin Arctic Survey are pioneering science to answer this very question. S2Si completed the risk assessment and operating procedures for CAS, and are proud to have helped this fantastic research get underway.
Negros Interior Biodiversity Expedition
In April 2009, a team of specialists undertook the first scientific exploration of the interior of the North Negros Natural Park (NNNP). The team consisted of both international and Filipino staff, aiming to conduct rapid biodiversity assessments of this unique habitat to provide data for its protection. North Negros Natural Park is a biodiversity hotspot of great importance, its species are under threat from illegal logging, hunting, the pet trade and unauthorised land use.
Butterfly Conservation

Páramo Direction Clothing Systems

Royal Geographic Society
The RGS-IBG Fieldwork and Expeditions division provides information, training and advice to anyone planning an expedition or field research overseas. Resources include: seminars and workshops; publications; over 5000 past and planned expedition reports; grants and approval; a world register of field centres, support for medics wishing to get involved with expeditions and risk assessment and safety management for fieldwork professionals. S2Si and its staff have supported the RGS – IBG for over two decades and appreciate the support they give to expeditions throughout the world.
Walking the Amazon
Ed Stafford (S2Si leader) is currently walking the Amazon from source to sea. He started on the 2nd April 2008, and is expected to finish in May 2010. He is the first man to attempt this epic journey, and is a long-standing friend of Rob Murray John having been on many expeditions to Central and South America together. We supported Ed in his quest by providing him with some vital emergency communication kit and are on hand if he needs any emergency assistance in any of the remote lands he walks through. He is raising money for Rainforest Concern among other charities. Good luck Ed!
