Izzy Jones - Expedition Consultant

Izzy first discovered the Jungle on a conservation expedition to Belize and Guatemala. The bug bit and she has never looked back. Since then she has graduated in Environmental Biology (1st class) and conducted postgraduate ecological research in the high altitude Páramo of Ecuador. Izzy has operated in several diverse environments around the world, including Borneo, Central and South America, Nepal and Continental Europe. She is well versed in dealing with extreme conditions whilst on expedition and has planned several independant expeditions herself. In her free time she is seen climbing, skiing and hiking around Scotland.

Charles Montier

Expedition Consultant, Charles

Expedition Consultant

A mountaineering season in the Peruvian Andes gave Charles his first taste of expedition life. He subsequently undertook a variety of expeditions, whilst completing his Economics degree at Bristol University. He travelled to Nepal, where he lived with yak herders and trekked the high altitude Ganja La Pass. He then set off on a spontaneous solo journey from Kathmandu to Calcutta, on a one-speed Indian bicycle. The following summer, he completed a survival course in the Guyanese jungle, which provided the foundation for executing two further expeditions in Guyana’s untouched interior. The first of these was a journey by dugout canoe with members of Guyana’s most isolated tribe, the Wai Wai. The second involved the very first descent of the Potaro River, from source to mouth, with two Patamona Indians. This was his most challenging expedition to date, taking 17 months to organise and finance, and counted the Guyanese army amongst its primary sponsors.

Charles lives in London, where he combines his work for S2S with his work for private tuition companies. He’s our newest expedition consultant and offers an additional exciting dynamic to our experienced team.
