We take Doctors, Paramedics and Nurses - they get use of a comprehensive medical kit tailored to the environment they are operating in and we have a Medical Director and advisor governing protocols and information release.

Joe Rowles

Joe trained as a medic in the British army and worked in Belize, Kenya, the United States and the Middle East. Joe is in the unique position as he is a very experienced wilderness medical practitioner and he leads expeditions as well. Joe has worked in the security industry, as a climbing instructor, a personal trainer, industrial access technician and a rescue technician for a private medical company.
Joe has led expeditions for various companies as well as acting as an expedition medic. He is currently studying medicine at Sheffield University when not Motorbiking, or climbing the latest peaks.
Dr Nicola Sammans

Nicola qualified as a doctor in 1998 with a degree from Newcastle University. Since 2003, she has been working as a GP in Northumberland and has regularly joined expeditions as a medic, all across the globe. Away from work, Nicola enjoys swimming and is a keen walker, taking advantage of the amazing scenery of Northumberland.
James Moore
For the last 10 years James has provided leadership and medical support on numerous expeditions across the globe. When not in the field, he dedicates his time to teaching wilderness and expedition medicine to medics and lay-people alike. He is the Managing Director of Travel Health Consultancy based in Exeter, and an Emergency Department Charge Nurse (and he’s the one on the right!).
Dr Lynda Carter
Lynda is an experienced wilderness medic. She currently works as a General Practitioner and a Clinical Assistant in her local Accident and Emergency Department in the Yorkshire Dales. After completing the Wilderness Medical Training course in Chamonix in 2006, she has been lead expedition medic on several conservation expeditions to Belize and Guatemala. She has experienced a number of environments including Sub-Saharan Africa, South East Asia, Australasia, North America and Europe. She has a love of Africa having worked on two extended electives in mission hospitals in Malawi and Swaziland. In her spare time, unsurprisingly, she can be found hiking in the Yorkshire Dales and is just back from trekking in Morocco.
