Rob was formerly the founder of Trekforce Worldwide and Managing Director of the charity Trekforce Expeditions. His career has spanned over 18 years of operational and management experience within the expedition and media field, specialising in conservation, project-based and challenging expeditions throughout SE Asia, Borneo, Central and South America, the South Pacific and North Africa. This experience combines perfectly with his fellow Directors’ expertise in outdoor education, technical outdoor skills and expedition medicine.
S2Si is therefore in the perfect position to deliver all location, expedition management and safety needs for Film & TV, Corporate challenges and specialist Bespoke Expeditions around the world. Rob's knowledge gained over two decades in the expedition industry gives S2Si the ability to offer an amazingly diverse and unique range of bespoke expeditions, the likes of which very few in the industry will be able to offer. He has specific skills in the Jungle and Desert environments. Rob's background in CSR and conservation project work gives the backdrop for the corporate challenges and a career that provides S2Si with international expertise to deliver its consultancy throughout the UK and Overseas.
Dr Tom Sheddan grew up in Scotland and trained in University of Glasgow. After completing a BSc Honours and extended electives in both Fiji and a mission hospital in Kenya he was smitten. After spending three years in the Royal Army Medical Corps he trained in General medicine, and Anaesthetics, Intensive care, Orthopaedics and Emergency Medicine. He has trained extensively in Expedition Medicine in UK, Arctic, Jungle and Desert environments. He is an aviation, repatriation and retrieval specialist and spends much of his time both conducting and co-ordinating repatriations in all corners of the world from London. He has extensive knowledge and experience of medical logistics throughout the globe.
Currently an Emergency Medicine registrar in Ireland he is just back after spending two months in Papua New Guinea, helping to establish an ongoing in-country presence for an expedition company. Tom is a diving medical examiner and currently undergoing his hyperbaric physician training whilst spending time in and out of the water as an avid diver. His other time is taken up as a Director of a charity, Global Emergency Care Skills which takes doctors to third world countries to train local medical staff in trauma/medical and intensive care skills appropriate for there facilities. Tom has travelled in Africa, South America, Asia, Australia and Europe and he combines this with love of outdoor pursuits, such as climbing, trekking, and snowboarding to name a few. He is also medical adviser to Burning Blue Media production company - whose main focus is on filming in extreme environments.
Growing up on the South coast of the UK, Dave developed a love for the outdoors through sea kayaking with his father, Steve. After graduating from Bangor University and developing his skills in North Wales, Dave has excelled in multiple disciplines from winter mountaineering (sky) to deep sea diving (sea). As a fully qualified teacher, instructor and expedition leader, Dave has worked on every major continent on Earth except Antarctica. Through Sky2Sea International, Dave aims to take his multi-disciplinary concepts internationally to create a new generation of extreme expeditions and projects. For him, Sky2Sea International represents this diversity, and is a perfect blend of many talents and expertise.
